Moths and Butterflies

I have developed a bit of a fascination for moths and butterflies; they are so delicate and fragile. A line in Virginia Woolf caught my imagination- ‘They brush the surface of the world’ and I’ve had in my head for years the description of plume moths by Susan Cooper (in ‘Silver on the Tree’) as carrying away memories - this was all I needed to start down a continuing path of inspiration…I started using moths in my work for my residency at the Georgian Theatre Royal, where they began to symbolise memory for me and then they kept on floating through my work, inspiring pieces in their own right. The pieces below are sold, but please do get in touch if you are interested in something similar.
