Crow Landscape

Inspired by the rooks and ravens that occupy the trees around my home at the edge of the village, this atmospheric ‘landscape’ has three rooks floating above the branches on delicate wire. Three layers of papercuts are each sprayed with layers of blue, brown and black inks to create the feeling of a wood in the evening with its shadows and tonal deep twilight colours. It has concertina sides so folds flat for posting, and comes in a beautiful handmade folder. Bring a little bit of the Northumbrian countryside into your home ! A perfect gift too for those corvid fans.

The layers are machine cut in my studio, based on my original handcuts and then hand finished with a scalpel. Each layer is individually sprayed with layers of ink and dried overnight. I then hand fold all the concertina sides, glue the layers together including the wires for the rooks, and they are again pressed overnight to dry. Please note as I make each one individually and spray each layer with inks, the colours will vary.
