Hedgerow
I love the magical transformation that happens when you fold and cut a single piece of paper and this structure is the perfect example of that alchemy. My ‘Hedgerow’ book is a variation of the beak book structure which opens to reveal a small 3-dimensional scene, giving you an unexpected glimpse through the hedgerows. The front layer of white cut paper and the background black printed layer makes a vivid contrast. The piece is folded and cut from a single sheet of A4 paper accompanied by a handmade slipcase and makes an ideal gift to pop in the post. It measures about 11 x 8 cm (folded).
Made to order, this is machine cut and hand finished in my studio in rural Northumberland.
