Hedgerow Hares
I love the magical transformation that happens when you fold and cut a single piece of paper and this structure is the perfect example of that alchemy. My ‘Hedgerow Hares’ book is a variation of the beak book structure which opens to reveal a small 3-dimensional scene. It is cut from lovely warm fabriano cartridge paper and was inspired by the hares that race around on the hill near my studio and by the lush hedgerows of Northumberland in spring. The piece is folded and cut from a single sheet of A4 paper accompanied by a handmade slipcase and makes an ideal gift to pop in the post. It measures about 11 x 8 cm (folded).
Made to order, this is machine cut and hand finished in my studio in rural Northumberland.
