Meadow Snippets (Medium)
Inspired by the intense summer colours of meadow flowers in the fields around where I live in rural Northumberland, this lovely assemblage features papercut flowers including daisies, a poppy and a dandelion with all sorts of foliage. Each piece in my 'Meadow Snippets' series comprises hand cut elements which are then individually painted with gouache paint. This gives a gorgeous saturated colour and a slightly chalky matte finish. They are then arranged into a pleasing circular composition before being mounted on foam pads so they float above the background and cast a lovely shadow, adding to the three-dimensional effect. The piece comes framed in a black box frame, approximately 30 cm square.
